A beautiful fall day is upon us and we have been hearing good fall fishing reports. The current water temperature in the river is 45 degrees. Crappie reports on the river remain good but have slowed somewhat. Anglers are report small jigs with small bright color plastics are working the best. Some panfish action has been reported at Pony Creek but still somewhat spotty there. Walleye action has been good but at times there has to be some sorting to get the larger fish. The bite seems to be best in late afternoon. Presentations that are producing the most fish are bright colored jigs or wolf river rigs fished in deep holes tipped with minnows or 3 in Gulp alive minnows. Areas in the river with best action are Red Banks and slightly North and the the mouth of the Rat River. The back bays and river channels are also producing large crappies and perch.

White Bass are still being reported from Gill's Landing up river as far as New London small blade baits and jigs tipped with minnows seem to be providing the most action.
